【Hardcore Gadget Geek's Review】JAPANNEXT JN-IPS27G120U-W Review: Out Feb 19, JPY 41,980, a 27-Inch 4K 120Hz Monitor With Two HDMI 2.1 Ports
The JAPANNEXT JN-IPS27G120U-W is a 27-inch, 4K, 120Hz gaming monitor. It went on sale Feb 19, 2026 at JPY 41,980 (tax included, direct sale). It has two HDMI 2.1 ports and two DisplayPort 1.4 ports, and it supports 4K/120Hz from a PS5. It is my pick for people who want to take their desk screen from 60Hz to 120Hz.
Key points
- Release date: Feb 19, 2026. JPY 41,980 tax included (direct sale)
- 27-inch IPS, 3840 x 2160, 120Hz, 1ms (MPRT), up to 400 cd/m2
- 100% sRGB, HDR400-equivalent. Two HDMI 2.1 and two DisplayPort 1.4 ports. 4K/120Hz from PS5
[Released Feb 19, 2026] JAPANNEXT JN-IPS27G120U-W
The JN-IPS27G120U-W is a 27-inch monitor that reaches 4K at 120Hz
JAPANNEXT put the JN-IPS27G120U-W on sale Feb 19, 2026. It is a 27-inch monitor that runs 4K at up to 120Hz, at JPY 41,980 (tax included, direct sale).
The panel is IPS at 3840 x 2160. Response time is 1ms (MPRT) and peak brightness is 400 cd/m2. The power adapter and cables are white to match the body.
As a desk-setup nerd, I find that once you pick 4K, the next question is Hz. This article reads the model through its gap from 60Hz.
How I judged it
First, refresh rate. 120Hz means 120 redraws a second, so one frame lasts 8.3ms (1000 / 120). That is half of the 16.7ms at 60Hz (1000 / 60).
Next, connections. Two HDMI 2.1 ports let you plug in a PC and a PS5 at once, and there are two DisplayPort 1.4 ports as well.
Color is 100% sRGB with HDR400-equivalent performance. HDR400 is an entry-level standard that peaks at 400 cd/m2, so use it for photo and document work inside sRGB.
If you can't decide, take the G120U. The reason: 4K detail, 120Hz smoothness and HDMI 2.1 for JPY 41,980.

Strengths and things to note
Strengths
Smooth at 120Hz. One frame lasts 8.3ms, half of 60Hz, so busy screens are easier to follow.
Plenty of ports. Two HDMI 2.1 and two DisplayPort 1.4, so a PC and a PS5 can be connected together.
4K with consoles. It supports 4K/120Hz output from the PS5.
Things to note
HDR400-equivalent is an entry-level grade that peaks at 400 cd/m2. If you want the punch of bright films, a monitor with a higher HDR standard fits better. To get 120Hz you have to connect over HDMI 2.1 or DisplayPort 1.4.
Who is it for?
People who want one 4K screen for video editing, coding and games. People who switch between a PS5 and a PC on one monitor.
If low-motion office work is the main use, the 60Hz JN-IPS2709U-W, JPY 7,000 cheaper, is another way to choose.
Price and where to buy
JPY 41,980 tax included, sold at stores such as Rakuten Biccamera. Over a year, that is about JPY 115 a day (41,980 / 365).
If you can't decide, take the G120U. The reason: a 27-inch 4K panel at 120Hz with HDMI 2.1 for JPY 41,980.
