The HP062J is the compact model in the BreatheClear series that SharkNinja put on sale Sep 25, 2026. It covers rooms of about 7 tatami.
The higher HP162J in the same series is for 15 tatami and goes on sale Oct 30. The two models split on room size and weight.
As a home-appliance nerd, I find that an air purifier comes down to price per room size and upkeep. This article reads those two as formulas.
How I judged it
First, price per room size. The HP062J is JPY 29,700 for 7 tatami, about JPY 4,243 per tatami (29,700 / 7). The HP162J is JPY 39,600 for 15 tatami, about JPY 2,640 per tatami (39,600 / 15). For a big room, the HP162J is the better value.
Next, weight and running cost. 2.6kg is 1.2kg lighter than the HP162J's 3.8kg (about 32% less). At JPY 31 per kWh, running 18W for 24 hours costs about JPY 13 a day (0.018 x 24 x 31 = about 13.4).
I also looked at upkeep. Shark says the HEPA filter needs no replacement for 6 years, and the pre-filter needs cleaning about every 2 months. The screen shows when.
If you can't decide, take the HP062J. The reason: 2.6kg, 18W and a 6-year HEPA for a 7-tatami room at JPY 29,700.

People who want to run one room of about 7 tatami, such as a study, bedroom or child's room. People who want a light purifier they can move from room to room.
If a living room or other large space is the main use, the 15-tatami HP162J is another way to choose.
