【Hardcore Gadget Geek's Review】Shokz OpenRun Air 2 Review: Out Sep 16, JPY 19,880, a 26.4g Bone-Conduction Set With IP67 and 10 Hours Per Charge
The Shokz OpenRun Air 2 is the entry model of its bone-conduction line, which sends sound as vibration through your skull bones. It went on sale Sep 16, 2026 at JPY 19,880 (tax included). It weighs 26.4g in all, is IP67 rated, lasts 10 hours and gives 2 hours from 5 minutes of charging. It is my pick for runners and anyone who gets wet.

The OpenRun Air 2 is IP67 bone conduction for people who run and get wet
Bone-conduction earphones leave your ear canals open and send sound as vibration through your skull. When you run, that lets you hear cars and people around you.
Shokz says the OpenRun Air 2 spreads pressure by enlarging the area of the driver that touches your head, easing the squeezed feeling. The whole unit weighs 26.4g.
As an IT consultant (SE), I read the footnote before the headline number. Both the 10 hours and the 2 hours are the maker's conditions.
How I judged it
First, water resistance. It is IP67 for dust and water, and you can rinse it after use. It suits sweaty workouts and sudden rain. Swimming and underwater use are not supported.
Next, battery and fast charging. 10 hours per charge, and 2 hours from 5 minutes of charging. That is 24 minutes of playback per minute of charging (120 ÷ 5).
If you can't decide, take the OpenRun Air 2. The reason: for JPY 19,880 you get IP67, a 10-hour battery and a 26.4g body.

Strengths and things to note
Strengths
Water resistant. IP67, and you can rinse it. Cleaning up after a workout is easy.
Long battery. 10 hours per charge, 2 hours more than the OpenFit Air 2's 8.
Things to note
With bone conduction, turning the volume up can make your head or ears feel the vibration. The codec is SBC only, so no AAC or LDAC. The neckband wraps behind your head, so try it in a store if you wear a cap or helmet.
Who is it for?
People who listen to music while hearing their surroundings on runs and walks. People whose earphones get wet from sweat or rain. It also suits anyone who wants to try bone conduction for under JPY 20,000.
For long work-from-home days or glasses, the ear-hook OpenFit Air 2 is another way to choose.
Price and where to buy
JPY 19,880 tax included, sold at Shokz's official Rakuten store and others. Over a year, that is about JPY 54 a day (19,880 ÷ 365).
If you can't decide, take the OpenRun Air 2. The reason: IP67, 10 hours per charge and a 26.4g body for JPY 19,880.
