【Hardcore Gadget Geek's Review】Garmin CIRQA Smart Band Review: Out Aug 6, JPY 32,800, About 21g With the Band and About 10 Days of Battery
The Garmin CIRQA Smart Band is Garmin's first band-type health and fitness tracker that you wear on the wrist to log sleep, workouts and body data. It went on sale Aug 6, 2026 at JPY 32,800 (tax included). It weighs about 21g with the band, lasts about 10 days and is rated 5 ATM. It is my pick for people who choose by lightness and by how easily they keep wearing it.
Key points
- Release date: Aug 6, 2026. JPY 32,800 tax included. Four colors
- Sensor 14.8g; 20.7g with the S-M band, 21.2g with the L-XL band. 5 ATM water resistance
- About 10 days of battery. 80+ activity types, started and stopped with one button
[Released Aug 6, 2026] Garmin CIRQA Smart Band
The CIRQA Smart Band is Garmin's first band type: about 21g and 10 days of battery
Garmin put this band on sale in Japan on Aug 6, 2026. It is the company's first wrist-worn band-type health and fitness tracker. For JPY 32,800 it logs sleep, workouts and body data while staying light on the wrist.
The sensor unit weighs 14.8g, and 20.7g with the S-M band. The Forerunner 70 weighs 40g, so the CIRQA is about half of that.
As an IT consultant (SE), I re-read the footnotes behind "about" and "up to". The 10 days is also a number under Garmin's test conditions.
How I judged it
First, weight. If you wear it to bed, every gram helps you keep wearing it. At 20.7g with the band, it is 19.3g lighter than the 40g Forerunner 70 (40 - 20.7), a cut of about 48% (19.3 / 40).
Next, battery and price. About 10 days is 3 days shorter than the Forerunner 70's 13. Over a year, though, it comes to about JPY 90 a day (32,800 / 365).
Position tracking works differently. The CIRQA uses "connected GPS", which borrows the GPS of the phone it is paired with. To record a running route, you run with your phone.
If you can't decide, take the CIRQA. The reason: a 20.7g body and about 10 days of battery for JPY 32,800.

Strengths and things to note
Strengths
Light. 20.7g with the band, about half of the Forerunner 70, so it is easy to keep on at night.
Easy to start. Press the button to start and stop, and it confirms with a vibration. It supports 80+ activity types.
Colors and bands. Four colors, and a separate armband lets you wear it on the upper arm.
Things to note
There is no GPS in the band itself; it borrows the phone's. If you want the watch alone to record your run, a Forerunner suits you better. Garmin Connect+ is an optional paid plan, and basic data viewing is free.
Who is it for?
People who want sleep and daily activity logged for 10 days on a light band. People who want walks and gym sessions recorded with one button.
If you want the run route recorded by the device alone, the GPS-equipped Forerunner 70 is another way to choose.
Price and where to buy
JPY 32,800 tax included, sold at Garmin's Rakuten Ichiba store and others. Over a year, that is about JPY 90 a day (32,800 / 365).
If you can't decide, take the CIRQA. The reason: a 20.7g body and about 10 days of battery for JPY 32,800.
