The SteelSeries Sensei Pro is a 53g symmetrical gaming mouse with 8,000Hz UWB wireless and two swappable batteries. The black model goes on sale in Japan on November 20, 2026, at a reference price of JPY 33,310. For FPS players who never want a dead battery mid-match, it's worth waiting for.

Key points

  • Black launches November 20, 2026; white from mid-December. Reference price JPY 33,310 (tax incl.)
  • 53g (Mini: 49g). Sensor up to 42,000 DPI, 800 IPS, 70G

【Coming Nov 20, 2026】The Sensei Pro answers 8K's battery problem with swappable cells

An 8,000Hz mouse is fast, but it drains its battery quickly. The Sensei Pro tackles that with two batteries you can swap.

It's a 53g symmetrical mouse with 8,000Hz UWB (ultra-wideband) wireless. It carries on the shape of the original Sensei from 2011.

As a software engineer, I always read performance numbers together with their conditions. So the first thing I looked up was how long it lasts at 8,000Hz.

My verdict

At 8,000Hz, the mouse reports its position every 0.125 milliseconds (1 ÷ 8,000 seconds). That's one-eighth of the 1 millisecond at 1,000Hz, which is where SteelSeries gets "up to 8x faster".

Battery life gave me pause. Sixteen hours per battery at 8,000Hz runs out in four days if you play four hours a day. But with the second one charging in the base, you just swap and keep going.

Can't decide? Get the Sensei Pro. It keeps 53g and 8,000Hz without stopping for a dead battery.

How long does the battery last?

PollingOne batteryBoth batteriesAt 4 hours a day
8,000HzAbout 16 hoursAbout 32 hours4 days per battery
1,000HzAbout 60 hoursAbout 120 hours15 days per battery
SteelSeries' published figures. "At 4 hours a day" is 16 ÷ 4 and 60 ÷ 4.

On days when you don't need 8,000Hz, dropping to 1,000Hz makes each battery last 3.75 times longer (60 ÷ 16).

Sensei Pro vs Rival Pro vs Sensei Pro Mini

Sensei Pro MiniSymmetrical49g
Rival ProErgonomic53g
From SteelSeries' product page and press release (Oct 25, 2026). All four models share the JPY 33,310 reference price.

The internals are shared; shape and size differ. Smaller hands? The Mini is 118mm long, 7.6mm shorter and 4g lighter (125.6 − 118 = 7.6mm). If you like resting your palm on the mouse, the Rival Pro's ergonomic shape, developed with pro players, is the better fit.

What I like, and what to watch

What I like

8,000Hz that doesn't stop. When one battery dies, swap in the one that's been charging in the base and you're back right away.

53g and symmetrical. It gets lighter while keeping the symmetrical shape that dates back to the 2011 original.

What to watch

JPY 33,310 is on the expensive side for a mouse. Even used daily for a year, that's about JPY 91 a day (33,310 ÷ 365). White arrives mid-December, so if color matters, you'll wait a little.

Who is it for?

FPS players who want to use 8,000Hz every day, people whose hands suit a symmetrical shape, and anyone who doesn't want to think about battery during long sessions.

If you mostly do office work, a more affordable mouse may be all you need.

Price and where to buy

The reference price is JPY 33,310, and Japanese electronics stores on Rakuten Ichiba already list it with the release date. Until launch, the button below is disabled. It becomes active on November 20.

Can't decide? Get the Sensei Pro. It gives you 53g and 8,000Hz without battery anxiety.
